Halloween in Hoboken is more than one night.
Throughout October, the Mile Square fills up with pumpkin carving, costume contests, fall festivals, parties, and neighborhood traditions. Then Halloween itself brings one of Hoboken’s biggest annual events to Washington Street.
Whether you’re looking for something family-friendly, a fall date night, or an excuse to go all-out with a costume, here are 10 ways to celebrate Halloween in Hoboken this October.
1. Hoboken Ragamuffin Halloween Parade
October 31 | Washington Street
The ultimate Hoboken Halloween tradition returns on Halloween afternoon. The Ragamuffin Parade begins around 10th and Washington Streets and travels south toward 5th Street, filling Washington Street with costumes, live music, floats, and local families.
The tradition has been part of Hoboken since 1963, making it a true Mile Square Halloween staple.
Good for: Everyone, costumes, classic Hoboken
2. HoBOOken 5K & Scary Scurry Kids’ Run
October 25 | Pier A
Put on a costume and start Halloween week with the annual HoBOOken 5K along the waterfront.

Pumpkin carving, but make it a night out.
8th Street Tavern is hosting pumpkin-carving nights every Monday and Wednesday throughout October. Pumpkins are $15 and include the carving tools and supplies you need.
There are also seasonal drinks like the Pumpkin Patch Sour, Harvest Highball, Fall Spritz, and hot apple cider. Pumpkin supplies are first come, first served.
Good for: Date night, friends, fall cocktails
4. Pier 13 Pumpkin Patch & Fall Fun
Weekdays throughout October | Pier 13
You do not have to leave Hoboken for a little pumpkin-patch moment.
Pier 13’s October programming includes a pumpkin patch, seasonal drinks, and a bounce house for kids on weekday afternoons, giving the waterfront a fall makeover before Halloween arrives.
Good for: Families, waterfront afternoons, fall photos
5. Halloween Cake Picnic at Symposia Bookstore
October 17th | Symposia Bookstore | 5 PM – 8 PM
For something a little different, Cakes & Pages is bringing a Halloween Cake Picnic to Symposia Bookstore.
Guests bring a whole cake to share and spend the evening sampling everyone’s creations in a Halloween-themed indoor picnic setting. Expect a photo area, raffles, mingling, plenty of cake, and costumes ranging from gothic to whimsical. The event is ticketed, BYOB, and limited to 20 guests.

6. Halloween Charity Cornhole Tournament

7. Hoboken Halloween Bar Crawl
October 24, 30 & 31 | Various Hoboken Bars
For the 21+ crowd, Hoboken’s annual Halloween bar crawls take over the city during the final stretch of October.

Good for: Nightlife, groups, 21+
9. Go Trick-or-Treating Through Hoboken’s Brownstone Streets
October 31 | Throughout Hoboken
Halloween is one of the best nights of the year to explore Hoboken’s residential streets.
Upper Bloomfield Street, Garden Street around 11th Street, and Park Avenue are known for heavy trick-or-treating participation and decorated homes. Businesses along Washington Street also traditionally hand out candy around the Ragamuffin Parade.
Good for: Families, kids, seeing Hoboken decorated for Halloween
10. Make Halloween Night a Full Hoboken Day
October 31 | Throughout Hoboken
With Halloween falling on a Saturday in 2026, there is no reason to limit the celebration to a few hours.
Start with coffee and a walk past decorated brownstones, head to the Ragamuffin Parade in the afternoon, trick-or-treat through the neighborhood around dusk, grab dinner, and finish with one of Hoboken’s Halloween parties or bar crawls.
It is one of those days when the entire city feels like it is participating.
Halloween in the Mile Square
Hoboken packs a surprising amount of Halloween into one square mile.
From pumpkin carving and costumed 5Ks to brownstone trick-or-treating, the Ragamuffin Parade, and Halloween-night parties, there is something happening for nearly every kind of celebration.
